Medical Check

Finished the medical and awaiting
our return back to the hotel
I had been here for a few days and it was finally time to go through a medical check. All the new LTs, or EMTs (English Medium Teacher) as they are called now, were loaded into buses and vans and taken to a government medical facility.

We filled up the lobby and were given a number. Women and Men were separated during this time. Since there were fewer men, it went much quicker for them.
When our number was called we went to the first station. In this station we removed our shirt, and the woman asked to see our hands, front and back, and then she inspected our back. That was all there was to the first station!  I found out later that this was to screen for leprosy!  Yikes!

There were two more stations, blood and x-ray. Our blood was drawn to screen for Hepatitis, and Aids. The x-ray was used to screen out tuberculosis. After the medical screenings we were whisked away through the streets of Abu Dhabi and back to our hotel.
